Lord Jesus, My Comforter

"Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

All my life, I've been facing struggles and trials of all sorts. Being born with brittle bones, I've suffered so many broken bone I've lost count a long time ago. Not only do I have to experience pain throughout my life, I had to deal with all sorts of problems in terms of friends, school life, my self- esteem and so on. So, pain and suffering is no stranger to me.

People asked me whether I've questioned God before. I've never really thought about that. I just continued living my life and the main reason why I'm still joyful is because of the support my family gave me. It's until I've become a Christian that I start to look at life in a different light. It changed my perspective on sufferings as well.

Somehow, I've always had a feeling that I can do something out of my life. It is until when I accepted Christ 2 years ago that I see a purpose in my life. I believe God made me this way for a reason, and that He can use me in ways I can never imagine. I know that all the sufferings I've been through is not without a purpose. It is through these things that I may find Comfort in God, and with the same comfort He gave me, I'm able to comfort others. I may not know yet what exactly is God's purpose in me but I believe that through His grace, I'll be able to inspire many and to testify of His glory in through my life.

As humans, we cannot escape from sufferings and troubles, but one thing we can do is to rely on His strength and to work our best in fulfilling the purpose He has in us. Even our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God suffered just as us when He came down from His throne to save us from our sins. He suffered even more than anything that we can ever experience in our lives. How can Jesus say that he loves us and understands us and even comforts us if he does not feel what we feel.

So, he made the biggest sacrifice ever for us. To come down from his throne, becoming just as us, suffered with us, tempted just as us; just so that he can give us the gift of Life; the comfort that we need in our lives filled with trials and sufferings.

So, let us be grateful for we have a God of love, compassion, grace and mercy.

"Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted." (Hebrews 2: 18)

Glory to God alone!
God bless.
