Why? Why? WHY??

"Why?" That is probably one of my most asked questions of all time. "Why is life so challenging at times? God if you are good, why can't be born normal like everybody else? Why must I go through the pain that I am experiencing now? WHY ME?" These are all questions that had went through my mind before. I have my own sets of why's in my life, and most of us do too. The feelings that we have to go through, the pain that we can't seem to bear, or even the fears about the things we are unsure of.  Sometimes, we can only ask "Why...?".

There are still many things that I still don't understand in life. I can't stand in place of God to answer all the "why's", not even the "why's" in my own life. But through experience, I know for sure that God has plans- plans to prosper us no to harm us, plans to give us HOPE and a FUTURE. "But why must I go through emotional pains, or poverty, or even a fail in finals for God to give me hope and a future?"

I can't know the specific reasons for God to let you go through what you are going through now, but one thing I am sure of -that is God is planning to use all the things in your life to help you see Him clearer, and for you to use it to helps others SEE too.

Do you think the small things you face is too insignificant for God not to use it for His glory? Definitely not! How can someone who has not experienced hurt in relationships empathize with a person who just broke up with his girlfriend? Or can a person who gets straight A's all the time comfort a person who just failed his mid-term paper?

Every hurt, hardship or question that you experience, however small or common it may seem, God has BIGGER plans for it. I am a testifier of that! I understand how people feel when they are lonely because I've felt it. I know how hard it is to overcome challenges, but I overcame! In the midst of finding the answer to my "why's", I found something more- a purpose. To help others see that in the midst of their "why's", there is HOPE in Jesus, the Christ!

"You intended to harm me, but God intended for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." (Genesis 50:20)

POWER in Weakness

Being weak is probably one of the last things anyone of us would want to be. Most of us like people who are strong figures- dependable, stable and strong. I love superheroes (yea,my favourite is Batman & Spiderman) and superheroes are not well-known for their weaknesses.Superman is well-known for his super strength,X-ray vision and his many other super abilities, NOT for his weakness towards Kryptonite. That's why kids (and many of us adults still) love superheroes so much. There's just that small part in us that imagines ourselves being the hero, saving the world, protecting the ones we love. People always admire people who are strong. No one finds glory in being weak.

And I guess for me, that is the answer! No one finds glory in being weak. So that when I overcome in my weakest times, no one can get any glory but Jesus alone! I've always tried to be strong, or at least appear to be. I am already physically challenged. Others around me can do things I can't. They can be helpful to others while I always felt useless when I was younger during my school years.

I've overcome many challenges in my weakest times, and every time I am the victor, it was simply because I found strength in Jesus. The time that you see me being "strong"? Well, those were the times Jesus carried me in His arms! Whatever you've seen in my life so far is only the beginning. One day a challenge will come, so BIG that no one can deny that it is God that overcame, not me.

You don't have to be Superman all the time. It's okay to be a normal human being every once in a while, you know? And humans get weak. Then will you see that there is POWER in WEAKNESS, simply because it's in your weakest hour, that God's strength shines most in your life. People will your life & they will praise God for who He is!  "...For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10)

POWERED BY JESUS
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13)

Step by step

The past few months since the end of last year had been a crazy one for me. Crazy, in a good way. God has been showing me things I've never expected before this. I saw my own plans for my future totally go out the window, I saw people around me making preparations for their UK studies as I just sit back, waiting to see what's my next step. At the very same time, I saw God's different (and not to mention BIGGER) plans for my future, I saw God's vision for me that surpasses just UK to all around the world, and I'm very humbled to witness the salvation of 10 young boys through an opportunity that God provided for me to share my life in the Klang Boy's Brigade.

Most of my coursemates are going to UK soon for their 3-months Degree programme in June. I was wrestling with God for about 2 semesters about whether or not I will be going to UK. My plans were to go to UK get it done quick & come back to Malaysia with a Degree in time for my 21st birthday. That was THE PLAN. Well, at least until God challenged me to another route. I decided to obey and see what He has in store for me.

However by His grace & mercy, I've seen so many open doors & opportunities that are coming up in my life. Opportunities that I can't even imagine! Too many to tell it all here & do it justice, but I may share some of it with you all when some of them goes through a few confirmations. All in all, this year will be a very exciting year for me. Far greater than the plan that I had- going UK to get my Degree.

It's overwhelming to look back on His faithfulness & His blessings over my life. What I really want to do now is to take everything in baby steps & know that He is in control. It may be a bit intimidating when people keep asking what I am doing in life, or whether I've found a job, or why I am not going for my UK Degree when it's only 3 more months. However, I want to move only when God tells me. So that I can walk in His plan, not running off to head my own way.

"Your word is the lamp unto my feet and the light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105). When you walk in darkness and all you have is a lamp for light, you don't run. Instead you take it step by step where the light shines. Similarly I want to walk in His light, not trying to be rushed or pressured by people around me. His peace will be with me, this He promises.

Fingerprints of God

I just finished watching a movie a few weeks back, called "Soul Surfer". An excellent movie on the real life story of a surfer named Bethany Hamilton who lost her left arm from a shark bite while she was surfing one day. Despite all odds, she struggled through various challenges trying to re-learn how to surf with only one arm & eventually fulfilled her dream to compete in the arena as a pro-surfer.

I believe that in everyone, lies the potential to overcome struggles in life that simply amazes everyone. I hope to be able to say that my life, too, is one that overcomes the odds. When I was younger, I didn't find any "inspiring" purpose of overcoming the challenges of being born with brittle bones. I overcame challenges because all I knew was that I needed to survive. It wasn't like I was doing it for anyone else other than myself.

Now that I've put my faith in Jesus, I knew exactly why I overcame those challenges in the first place. It wasn't merely for me to survive. No, I believe sincerely in my heart that there is a reason that goes far greater than that. I believe that my life & all the struggles that come along with it are there for me to show the Maker that created me, and the plans that He has for me.

I believe that in all that I've been through, the fingerprints of God are all over it. I believe that every challenges and hardship that comes my may is an opportunity for me to show the places that God has left His fingerprints on.

Each one of us are His masterpiece! The ones that He moulded & sculpted with His own hands. He leaves His fingerprints where He touched us and simply by showing that to the world, lives can be changed, spirits can be encouraged, and hearts renewed. You are not very much different from me, nor Bethany Hamilton- in the fact that regardless of how big or how small the challenges that you've faced, you too are a display of the fingerprints of God.

The movie "Soul Surfer",starring Anna Sophia Robb.

Bethany Hamilton, the real deal.

Never say that your life is worthless, for you cannot measure the value of it when your life touches another person.  -Daniel L.

A New Adventure BEGINS

Wow,it's been like forever since I last wrote! Many things had happened since then. Met new friends, made new decisions, moved on to new paths, yet the same GOD still brings me through.  2011 has been a great year of "wrestling" with God and "losing" to Him (obviously). Wrestling with God is NOT necessarily a bad thing as many may think. I've been humbled and amazed by His faithfulness even as he challenged me in various ways.

When I first went into college, I've had plans of graduating with a degree as young as possible(I'm only 20 now), probably even a Master while I'm at it. I knew that I had a "head-start" compared to the friends around me & with 4 years of college,I'd graduate with a Degree in Psychology from UK by the time I'm turning 21. And if I want to,I can even possibly finish a Masters Degree within a year's time by the age of 22. THAT was THE PLAN

Then there came God, who just casually whispered in my ear and "ruined" what I've planned for four years! I was like, "Seriously,God? Why didn't you just tell me like four years earlier. Why now? Why challenge me to let go of my degree when I'm only ONE semester away from going to UK?? Besides,it will only take 3 months in UK for my degree. You sure that's you,God? Or is it just some crazy voice in my head?"

I thought it was a CRAZY idea not going for the degree when I only need 3 months to complete it. But trust me,when God calls you for something, however crazy it may sound, you'll know that it's the RIGHT thing to do. It reminded me of the time God called Abraham (Abram at that time) out of his home to the "Promised Land". What kind of a crazy person would just leave home suddenly one day & start a journey to a "land" that may not exist, not to mention all the challenges & the dangers he may face while travelling to this new land? But that was what Abraham did

Where exactly am I going? I don't know either, just as Abraham didn't know his next step until God told him where to go. One thing's for sure-God called me to speak of His love by sharing my life with others, and despite everything that may come in my way in this new "adventure" that I'm embarking on, I BELIEVE God's faithfulness will prevail.

So, please partner with me in PRAYER even as God calls me to this new adventure with Him.

"Abraham BELIEVED God, and it was accredited to him as RIGHTEOUSNESS." (Romans 4:3) That is exactly what I want to do this year & in the years to come. His love endures forever.

Beauty from Ashes(Tribute to Dad)

A special dedication to all those who has suffered the loss of someone special in their lives, and also people who are just struggling to know that there is still a tomorrow for them.

October 26th six years ago, just 4 days after my birthday, was the day my life turned upside down and everything that I relied on fell apart for the first time in my life.

I was born with a disease called "Osteogenesis Imperfecta" a.k.a. "brittle bones" disease. For my whole life as I could remember, I've been constantly breaking bones. I could walk when I was very young but started falling down a lot & breaking my bones frequently after that. I stopped walking at the age of 2 or 3. My mum was the one carrying me around all the time until we could afford a wheelchair. Being laughed at & talked about behind my back were not unfamiliar to me. Plus, the "stares" people gave me whenever my mum carries me although  I was old enough, hurt a lot.

However, despite all that I would say that I was never a bitter person (depressed maybe but definitely not bitter) because of my parents. My mum was always there to carry me & take care of me. My dad  was the person that I looked up to the most & yet was like my best friend. We used to talk, play PS games together, joke around and have fun. As I grew up he was the one who taught me about perseverance, principles and the things that shaped my character today.

The year was 2005. I celebrated my 14th birthday on the 22nd of October, the day before I had another surgery on my leg. Because of the fever that I was having as a reaction to the wound, I was only discharged 4 days after the surgery. That very morning my mum told me my dad wasn't feeling well. He was shivering & vomiting all of a sudden. Then news came that it was a heart attack. My dad never had a heart condition before this. He even had a body check up a few days before that & it showed that he was well. In less than 5 hours, my mum called me and said that my dad passed away

My whole life crumbled before my eyes as I wept, not knowing the future of the family. It all happened so quickly and suddenly that it felt like a nightmare that I was desperate to wake up from. I lost one of the most important person in my life in less than 5 hours & I didn't get to see him before he left. I felt like I was buried deep within the ashes of a great fire. Because of that,my mum, me & my 2 sister had to move somewhere else so that my mum could work. To cut the story short, as a result of that, I got to know Jesus 2 years after the tragic incident in my life.

All I want to share is God has a plan for you and I. He didn't take my dad away so that I could believe in Him. Everyone has to die one day. All He did was to use the tragedy in my life (like my disease,my dad & challenges in life, etc. ) and make it into something BEAUTIFUL. So, put your hope in Jesus because in Him there is HOPE

He can bring BEAUTY out from the ASHES that you are in, whatever it may be. He has done that for me, He will do it for you too. In Him, there is always a tomorrow!

In memory of,

It's a REAL-ationship!

Got a rare chance of talking to a friend of mine, Dino, while waiting for Hannah to finish with her interview with the Star yesterday. While we were talking, he somehow asked if I was Christian. It was only until then that I knew he was Christian as well.

Dino is 55 years old this year. He seems like a successful businessman now, full of confidence, has a happy family and he doesn't look 55 at all! What I didn't know was that years ago, he had a broken marriage, had a divorce, had a business and went bankrupt, and had multiple health problems from drinking too much all the time. Everything just seemed hopeless to him at that time. It wasn't long that he found a VCD on the gospel in his house (how it was there,I didn't ask). He watched the VCD and tears just came flowing down his cheeks, not out of sadness but joy, and HOPE

Since then, his life changed totally. He remarried, has a 14-year-old son now, and his business has been greater than ever! He was sharing on how God changed the way he acts daily. Whenever he goes for a business presentation, he'll pray and surrender everything to God first, and even when he's discussing business, he never lets go of an opportunity to share the gospel if there was one. He told how he just cried out to God when his then 12-year-old son was addicted to online gaming, and it wasn't long before God taught him how, and his son is now a very passionate leader in his church CG. He shared so much of how REAL God has been in his life with so much passion and a spark in his eyes. He wasn't just sharing some story about his life, rather it was about his relationship with God.

His story struck me. I could still remember the times where God just seemed so REAL to me and my relationship with Him was all that I longed for. It was a timely reminder for me that the key to see a TRANSFORMATION in my life is NOT by all the superficial things that I do. It's not even by how much I know about the Bible or how much I serve in church. It's about the DESIRE to have a REAL relationship with Him.

I long to experience Him in a very real way again. To start my every day just excited to hear from Him. To go through my daily activities with a desire to please Him with all that I do. I long for Jesus to transform me with His love and grace. After all, this is not just any relationship. He wants to have a REAL-ationship with me, and I in him.

p/s:PRAY for me, that I will seek Him and His righteousness first and long for nothing more than His love. I really long to see Him in my life & people to experience Him through me. That will be my prayer for you too.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

God bless.

Desperate for YOU!

In the light of the many things that happened these past few weeks,I didn't have much time at all to update this blog. The past weeks (or was it months?) has been so crazy. My FYP (Final Year Project) thesis wasn't really running smoothly, my studies wasn't that good and everything had just been too much for me that I wasn't even keeping my quiet time with God regularly. I also put everything concerning my business on hold just so that I can get a grip of everything that's happening.

With so much happening, there was an emptiness that is slowly gripping my heart. I felt desperate for something, and somehow nothing I did could fill that void. I thought it was maybe I felt a need to perform in my studies, or maybe I was a bit lonely & so was desperate for girlfriend (don't laugh!) or maybe I was just too bored. I tried to find out the answer, and with that I just felt more "empty" inside. I've noticed I have been "down" more often this semester. I was really lost and needed someone there. I felt desperate for someone to know me for who I am.

I now know that "void" that is inside my heart is a cry of desperation for Jesus. I know that my heart longs to experience Him again in such a way that it was as if I'm spending time with Him everyday. It's so hard sometimes to know that I am desperate for Him and yet don't know how to get back to Him. Something as simple as spending time with Him suddenly seemed so mundane and "dry".

The reason that I am writing this is to let you know that you are not alone if you feel like you're slowly drawing away from God. I am desperate for Him and I know some of you are too! Don't rely on your own strength. Don't wait anymore. You can just surrender everything to God and cry out,"I am desperate for You!"

But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29)

Life is NOT a SNAPSHOT

There's a lot of things in life that I don't understand. Sometimes, things just happens & all of a sudden your life became more complicated than it ever was. It could be a bad result in an exam, it could be a decision you have to make about starting a new relationship, it could even be the death of a loved one.

When my dad died from heart attack so suddenly, it seemed that there was no hope for me & my family. I wasn't a Christian back then. So,I couldn't understand why it had to happen to me. As a Buddhist back then,I thought it must be karma. It must have been something my dad or me did in our past lives to deserve such fate. Now that I know the hope that I have in Jesus, I thank Him that from something so horrible that happened to me & my family He was the only one who could make something beautiful out of it. After my dad passed away, my mum had no choice but to move to another town to work. It was from there that I came to know Jesus personally.

Sometimes we just wonder why we have to go through the things that we just come our way without invitation. There were many times where I wondered if the pain & aimlessness will ever end. It NEVER makes God happy seeing us suffer. However, God is the only one that can make something beautiful out of the mess that we are in. All we have to do is to have faith in Him & just hang on a little longer.

Many times, I can't see the bigger picture of God's plan for me in my life. Sometimes I don't even know where God wants me to go or what He wants me to do. But one thing's for sure. Life is NOT a SNAPSHOT. It might take some time & more snapshots, but soon enough I'll be able to see the bigger picture of His plan for me. Until then, I'll trust in my Father.

p/s: Whatever that you may be facing right now, He has a better PLAN in store for you. Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's NOT THE END YET.

Don't give up!!

This post is specially dedicated to the lovely Mar Lynn, who despite what she may think, will touch the lives around her. Somehow God is just telling me that you will be used greatly by Him to impact & touch others in the time to come. So,I hope that this will encourage you & help you (even if it's just a little) to go through hard times.

I might look like a strong person who has overcome many obstacles, but you'd be surprised at how many times I've felt like I was lost, felt like I was losing sense who I was, felt like I wasn't good enough for Him. I've lost count of how many times I've felt like giving up

I understand how BIG challenges can seem to be when they come our way. There are times where we find ourselves in a valley so deep we doubt we'll ever get out of it,or in a place so dark we can't see the way. Wherever you may be,JESUS will meet you there. So, don't give up!! Because you have a story to tell & you want to be heard!! If it is the weight of the world on your shoulders,Jesus will lift it for you. If it is the darkness that blinds you,Jesus will shine to guide you. If you don't have the strength to run anymore, Jesus will carry you.

Of course,we see "strong" Christians around us & they are already being used greatly by God & doing well on their own. I tend to look at myself & thought "I'll never be able to touch the lives of others as he/she does." or "I'm not doing as well in my walk with God as that person does." You know what? It's good that they're doing well. But it'll be even greater when people see ordinary people like us overcoming REAL problems: problems that everybody faces. Then they will know that our GOD is real through our lives.

So, don't give up!!! Because you want to be heard!! I am really really confident that God has GREAT plans for you and I will definitely be praying for you. One day,you will be the one helping others overcoming problems that you once faced. You are LOVED!!!

p/s: Hey, you don't have to go through this alone. If you need help, don't be afraid to let me know. None of us are meant to walk this journey alone y'know? ;)
God bless =)

If I were to die today...

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."

-Mahatma Ghandi

I wonder how would I react if I am told that I'm going to die today? Will I be glad because God is calling me home & I can finally see Him in person? Will I be scared of dying, or will I regret of the things that I have yet to do & experience? A friend of a friend of mine had a son who was diagnosed with lung cancer when he was 15. That was a year ago. A few weeks back, he died at the age of 16. He had a whole life ahead of him. Only 4 years younger than me, and he didn't get to experience that. Sometimes I think to myself, "I could be in his shoes. I could have been the one diagnosed with cancer. I could have died 4 years ago."

I guess there's a lot of things that I want to die before I die. I've always wanted to bring my family & friends to Christ, to marry the woman that I love, to have a family of my own, to go around impacting lives, to go for marathons, to dance with a girl, and the list goes on. All this reminded me that EVERYONE has an EXPIRY DATE. Some of my friends say, "No! God can't call me home yet. I'm young & still got plenty of things to do for Him." Paul urged us to "run with perseverance the race marked our for us." All of us has a race marked out for us. For some of us God marked out a short race, for some of us He marked out a full marathon. Either way, God does not wait for us to be ready to call us back. We have to get ready for His call.

I think I would have my fair share of regrets if I were to be called "home" today. I just pray that I will cherish the time He's giving me and to live a life worthy of the calling I have received. If I were to die today, I just pray that my life would have impacted YOU in some way. In the meantime, I don't want to take for granted the time that He is giving me.

So, let us build up one another, reminding each other that we have a race marked out for us. Finding every effort to encourage & to impact lives around us,and when we finally reach the finishing line, that we too may say the words Paul said, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7)

FINISH THE RACE WITHOUT REGRETS.
Be blessed. =)

The Moment of Truth

"The more I look at myself, the more I feel like I don't deserve you." Those words linger in my mind sometimes. They linger whenever I've hurt you. They linger whenever someone says I'm not good enough for you. They linger whenever I think I'm only one mistake away from you leaving me.

I sometimes lose sight of the things that matter most. I do things for you to show my love for you. Some people tell me that LOVE must be shown in ACTIONS. Some even tell me that if I love you, I'd do my best for you, to give my everything & nothing less. But there's so many times that I've done things that I'm not proud of, things that I KNOW would hurt you. Sometimes I feel that I'm just not good enough. How can somebody continue to love something that is such a disappointment over and over again?

It is during these times, however, that you whisper to me, "Go back...Go back to the moment of truth". The moment I first heard you say "I love you" & that was the time I said "I do". I've been comforted over and over again by the reminder that it is NOT by what I do that you love me so. It is not by being "good enough" that I deserved your love. It is by how much you LOVE me, and how much you would sacrifice to show that your love for me is greater than mine for you.

So,whenever you feel that God will not love you anymore because of what you have done, well you are not alone. Most of all, be assured that His love for you NEVER changes. He loves you just the way you are, but He loves you too much to let you stay the way he found you. He has made you GOOD. So, be good! NOT to show that you are worthy of His love, but to experience the FULLNESS of His GRACE whenever you realize that you can't do it on your own.

Go back to the time when you first held His hand & He held yours. He LOVES you back then...He LOVES you STILL....

God is calling YOUR name

"You know just how much I love you...Even if everyone leaves you, I will stand by you til' the end. I am willing to die for you." Well, at least that was what I said until they came and took you away. I fought for you at first, but I was too weak & you didn't want to see people getting hurt. You know what's worse?? When I was trying to see where they were taking you, some of the people around recognized me. I panicked. I didn't know what to do. My mouth just blurted out,"What are you talking about? I swear, I don't know such person!" Before I knew it, the rooster crowed & I remembered what you said. All I could do was to weep as I regretted denying the very person I loved. I've let you down, Lord. Will you forgive me?

Simon Peter is probably one of the most memorable for me among all of Jesus' disciples. But because of his denial of Jesus, Peter used to be the 2nd last person I'd want to be among Jesus' disciples; Judas Iscariot being the last person I'd wanna be. However, I find myself being able to identify with Peter most of the time. There were so many times that I felt that I've betrayed His love and forgiveness that He so freely gave to me. I sing that I love Him and that I'll offer my life to Him, but there's just so many times that I feel that I've failed Him. How can He still love me after all these?? I've let You down too many times, God.

It just amazes me how long it took for me to realize that in this RELATIONSHIP, He is the one holding me up, and He NEVER LETS ME DOWN. There's no way I could let Him down if I've never once held Him up.

When Jesus resurrected, the angels of the Lord told Mary and Mary Magdalene "He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' " (Mark 16: 7) The angel said, "..tell his disciples and Peter.

"..his disciples and PETER.

Just when Peter thought that he's blown it. Just when he thought Jesus will never forgive him for what he's done, God mentioned his name. God mentioned Peter by name to let him know that He still cares for him & that He's forgiven him.

So whenever you think that you've blown the chance that Jesus has given you, think again. God is calling your name, to let you know that He still LOVES you & He forgives you. Remember, He is the one holding you up, not the other way around. We can never let Him down. cause we can't! He never lets us down

When a PLAN comes together...

"There is a plan in everything...and I love it when a plan comes together."

-Col. John "Hannibal" Smith-

That was from a movie called "The A-Team". It's about four US Ranger veterans that...uh...well,you just have to watch it yourself. LOL. The coolest character would most probably be Col. "Hannibal" Smith, the mastermind of the team. He just seem to pull off the most impossible of plans. Planning ahead is his greatest asset, the thing he needs the most to ensure the survival of the whole team.

It seemed so easy in the movies huh? Everything just seem to fall into place just as how the main character would intend it to be most of the time. Everything just seems to go according to plan. Life sometimes doesn't work that way for me (or most of us in that case). No, life doesn't work that way most of the time. The "A"s that you've always wanted for your finals didn't come your way. The girl that you have a crush on likes another guy. You can't play sports anymore because of an accident. You lost somebody very precious to you.

God's plans doesn't make sense to me sometimes. I just don't understand why His plans involve so much challenges, so much hardship. However, whenever I have these thoughts, there's one thing I'll do. I look again to Jesus. Look again at the plan of salvation. God sending His one and only son to die for me on the cross. Jesus saying "Forgive them." as the nails pierced through his hands. God becoming Man. The plan of salvation sounds like absurdity! Well,it is absurdity IF the God that did all these does not exist. But He does!!

Sometimes,it may feel like the plan God asked you to step into doesn't sound anything like a good plan. It may seem that there is no plan at all. But let me assure you, He does have a plan. And it is the greatest plan that He can think of for you and for me. So, don't be worried. Waves and storm may come, but He is in control. Just imagine God looking back at you and me in the end of the day saying, "I love it when a plan comes together."

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Sometimes, God's plans may sound absurd. But it's definitely NOT!! Look at God's plan of salvation...

God bless. =)

Before the Morning...

When I was younger, I used to be afraid of the dark. So,naturally I'd hate night time, especially bed time. Whenever it was time to sleep, I'd literally wrap myself from head to toe with the blanket, lie with my back against the wall, and look at the small light that is on in the room. Oh how I'd always hoped morning would come faster. In horror movies, everything would always get better in the morning. That was how much I hoped for mornings.

I think it is the same principle when I look at how I face life's challenges. I'm still recovering from my surgery the other day. One thing about wounds and broken bones are that they always hurt the most at night. That's when they start to really heal. The nights are always the hardest part for me, but when the morning comes it feels like everything is better.

It's the same as LIFE. Everyone of us faces pain and challenges in life. Some may be simple and bearable, others may seem so hard we wonder if it's ever gonna end. When my dad died so suddenly, I wondered if my mum & us would ever have hope again. I wondered if this pain would ever end. I wondered if I was going to see "daylight" again. But just as no matter how scared I was during the night, morning would surely come. It was because of my dad's death that I moved to another place & found Jesus Christ. My "morning" finally came!!

So,no matter how much pain you may be going through right now, God knows. And He CARES!!It may feel that this pain will never end, but let me assure you, it will. No matter how long the NIGHT may feel like, MORNING will surely come. So, hang on a little longer. Let God hold your hand through this pain. Let Him show you that this pain you are going through, it's just the dark before the morning.

"...weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning." (Psalm 30:5)

p/s:Listen to Josh Wilson's "Before the Morning". It's really a must hear. Hope you've been blessed by this.

A silent cry...

It's heartbreaking waking up in the morning yesterday and saw TWO suicide cases in the front page of the newspaper. In one of the cases, a high school student jumped off (actually she sat on the ledge & let herself fall) from the second floor of her school building, right in front of horrified classmates. Another case was about a mother who threw her 5-year-old daughter off a building before jumping off herself soon after. In both cases, the person involved looked normal and somewhat cheerful. Their suicides were something their friends and families never expected. On the outside, they may look like they're the happiest people in the world. On the inside however, they were crying for help; for someone to understand the pain, the suffering; hoping that someone will end their misery; someone

I can't even imagine what they were going through or what were going through their minds. One thing I do know,it's that they were all HOPING for something, but that thing never came. The high schooler that jumped off from her school building was writing on her Facebook about a failed relationship. She was hoping for someone that she could trust, someone that could love her, someone to care. That person never came. As a desperate attempt to call out for help, she even wrote on the Facebook about her intentions for suicide. Her friends didn't care, instead they were taunting her to do it. They thought she wouldn't dare to do so. Man, how wrong were they.

Seeing news like these,I'm thankful that it's not one of my friends there. The fact is, EVERYONE is facing something in their lives that are difficult to them. Some who has known a HOPE like the Jesus that I know may find the strength to overcome it. But many have not known this HOPE that I know; and even some Christians may lose sight of this hope & find life meaningless. Whatever these people are going through, there is a silent cry that is so easily overlooked

So, be aware of these silent cries around us. Look around you. There may be a friend that looks cheerful on the outside, but hurting deeply inside. Pray that all of us won't overlook these silent cries around us. Somewhere out there, someone is hurting. Someone that needs your counsel, your concern, your love. Show them this HOPE that we have in Jesus & let Him free them from their chains.
